Neuman Strikes at Sycamore

Neuman Strikes at Sycamore

A pair of previous winners would set the front row of our 30 lap feature. On the green, Thiel and Nimee would make contact causing Nimee’s left rear tire to deflate, sending him to the work area and to the tail of the field.

Neuman and Thiel would restart the field once more, Neuman would jump to the cushion and take the early lead. Thiel would follow closely behind the 3N while Arenz, Goldesberry, and Hartmann would battle the bullring behind him.

Goldesberry would pass Thiel with a bobbe on the backstretch and begin to reel in leader Jake Neuman. Arenz would execute a pass on the 65 and take second with 10 laps in, 20 to go. Goldesberry would attempt to battle Thiel on the bottom of turns one and two which allowed Neuman and Arenz to run away. With 18 laps to go, Arenz would pass Neuman for the lead by a nose. Neuman would rally back to the lead the next lap.

Blackhurst would make his way into the top 5 mix passing Thiel and Goldesberry on the bottom of one and two. The battle for the lead had just begun when the caution flag flew for Ryan Bunton. We would restart the field with 3N, 25T, 96, 65, and 73 rounding out the top five. Kyle Schuett and Austin Hartmann would show their cars in the top as well.

Neuman with clear air would take the lead, but the battle was behind him. Littleton, Schuett, and Hartmann would be battling for a top 5 spot. 10 laps remained for Neuman. He would shortly have a mirror-full of Arenz as he entered into lap traffic. Neuman would continue to take to the cushion and get sideways which allowed Arenz to catch up.

5 laps remained, while Neuman would weave through traffic, the race to watch was for the remainder of the podium. With two laps remaining, we would throw another caution for the 6R of Ryan Bunton. Green, White, Checkered would decide the fate of the race. Neuman led the field to the green. Thiel would give it all he had against Blackhurst, and Blackhurst would try to slide one more time for second, but the checkered wave at Sycamore for Jake Neuman’s third IRA Feature win. Arenz would bring home second. Jake Blackhurst third.
