Hartmann turns in fourth 2023 top-10 finish at Fairbury American Legion Speedway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 28, 2023 – Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing team continued to build momentum heading toward the midway point of the 2023 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series season by notching a strong 10th place showing in the annual Bill Waite Jr. Memorial IRA-Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) A main at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill. on Saturday, June 24.
With a stout 42-car field on hand in pursuit of the $7,000 first-place prize, Hartmann qualified ninth with a lap of 11.798 seconds around the quarter-mile dirt oval.
Hartmann then lined up on the pole of the second eight-lap IRA-MOWA heat and held on to notch his first IRA heat race victory of the 2023 and second career IRA heat race win. The fourth-year Sprint Car competitor started and finished fifth in the first four-lap IRA-MOWA dash to earn the ninth starting spot in the 30-lap main event.
The Plymouth, Wis. driver put together another smooth and consistent performance, while enduring four yellow and red flag periods, en route to a 10th place finish in a race won by Joe B. Miller.
The 10th place showing was Hartmann’s fourth top-10 finish of the 2023 season and third top-10 showing of the 2023 IRA 410 Sprint Car Series campaign.
“I’m very happy with our efforts at Fairbury,” Hartmann said. “I am beyond thankful for everyone who helps and supports this team get around the track.”
The 87A Hartmann Racing team be back in action with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series for the annual Scott Semmelmann Memorial this Saturday July 1 at Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis The all-open wheel program will also feature the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing – Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars and the IRA Lightning Sprints.
Grandstand gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps set at 5:30 p.m. and racing to follow.
