Tyler Tischendorf Makes 410 Sprint Car Debut at Beaver Dam

“That thing is nuts.”

It's safe to say Tyler Tischendorf was impressed with the power of a 410 sprint car. Especially after hot laps with the IRA at a hammer down Beaver Dam Raceway.

The Waupaca, WI native timed in 16th in Hot Laps, and 21st in Qualifying out of a 25 car field in his first career laps at speed in a 410 Winged Sprint.

“My goal all night was just to get more comfortable each time I was out there.” Tischendorf said. “I felt we were quicker than what I was doing on the track, but I was just trying to keep it under control and not go all out my first time out there.”

Tyler’s heat race was a bit of a write off, with a bleeder malfunction causing the Green Bay Blizzard/Professional Plating Inc 26’s right rear tire to continually lose pressure until eventually, it came back into the pits completely flat.

“The bleeder malfunction was unfortunate, but the car felt great while it did have air.” Tyler said with a laugh. “We scrapped the bleeders completely for the A Main and I felt even better then.”

“TNT” lined up 22nd for the 30 lap A Feature, and immediately powered around the outside of MSA 360 Sprints regular Tim Haddy to take 21st away. Two cautions later saw the 26 up to 18th place, as Tyler began hounding longtime IRA regular Jereme Schroeder for 17th, but it was not to be.

“Coming to the restart after the second caution the brake pedal just went to the floor.” Tyler said. “I tried pumping them to get it back, but it wasn’t any better coming into turn 3, so I pulled it into the infield.”

The team diagnosed the issue after the feature, but Tyler was still positive about the night’s events.

“Overall, I’m very happy with how the night went. By the Feature, I felt like I was actually driving the car and not just holding onto it. We were faster than I expected late in the night, and that’s really cool to see. Huge thanks to the crew for making the right changes all night and helping me get comfortable so quickly. I’m excited to see where we go from here.”
