LA SALLE SPEEDWAY AND ANGELL PARK SPEEDWAY TO SEE LARGE FIELDS THANKS TO CO-SANCTIONED IRA VS MOWA SHOWDOWN!

JOINING FORCES – BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA SPRINTS AND THE MIDWEST OPEN WHEEL ASSOCIATION PRESENT CO-SANCTIONED TWO STATE DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND!

August 25, 2016; Appleton, WI – Last weekend the teams of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint survived a grueling three-race weekend, they ran the gauntlet of back to back events at Wilmot Raceway and an epic joining of forces with the World of Outlaws at Angell Park Speedway.

This weekend the pressure continues as the title chase will rage on at a pair of joint sanctioned contests presented by the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints and the Midwest Open Wheel Associations.

The two organizations coming together will mean two things. Fierce competition and a large turnout of 410 sprint cars.

The first event of the doubleheader weekend is the 6th Annual Bill Waite Jr. Memorial Race held at the LaSalle Speedway on Saturday night August 27th, in north central Illinois. Of the pair of weekend events the show is closest to the southern Illinois homebase of the Midwest Open Wheel Association, which will be well represented as the teams challenge the best of the IRA for bragging rights.

Last year it was an outsider, Roger Crockett from Medford, Oregon who bested both the IRA and MOWA teams to earn the top prize in the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial. Earlier this season Parker-Price Miller won the opening race of the year for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints at LaSalle. However, it had been Bill Balog, the seven-time IRA champion who has earned the lion's share of prize money from the event having captured four checkered flags in the contests.

This year $5,000 is on the line for the winner and the top drivers from both organizations want to lay claim to the award.

The Bill Waite Jr. Memorial event is known as a fan favorite with a large number of off track activities including a special driver and race car photo session behind the grandstand at 4:30pm for fans arriving early at the track.

The throughout the night fans have a variety of ways to win prizes. T-shirt and Frisbee tosses will be held throughout the evening and fans can earn racing related items by filling out fan surveys.

On track action is set to get underway with hot laps at 6:00pm and the first racing action is scheduled for 7:00pm.

In addition to the large field of 410 sprints, Badger Midgets, Mini-Sprints and UMP Street Stocks will be adding to the action on the banked quarter-mile bullrings.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for high-school students with ID. Children ages 13 and under are admitted for FREE with an adult.

The high-banked quarter-mile oval is located at E. 578 on U.S. Highway 6 in LaSalle, Illinois, which is just east of I-39 on Highway 6. The track is 60 miles west of Joliet, 80 miles east of the Quad Cities, 70 miles south of Rockford, and 60 miles north of Bloomington. The track can be reached by calling (815) 223-6900.

After the program, the teams will pack up and head north to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

One week ago the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints joined forces with the World of Outlaws at the historic third-mile oval with multi-time WoO champion Donny Schatz claiming bragging rights.

This week's show will again showcase an outstanding field of 410 sprints and fans have the added benefit of saving an addition $5 off their admission ticket of they have a ticket stub from attending that event.

Normal adult admission is $20, while a student ticket is $15 for those ages 12 to 18. Children under the age of 12 are admitted FREE.

Again a ticket stub from the join IRA/WoO event last week will save an additional $5.

In addition to the 410 Sprints, Badger Midgets and Wisconsin Dirt Legends are on the card.

Hot laps are set to begin at 6:00pm with time trials and racing action to follow hot laps.

To reach the track, take the Highway 19 exit East off of Highway 151. Head through the town of Sun Prairie. On the east side of town take County Trunk N (Grove Street) south one block to Miller Drive. Turn onto Miller Drive and you will see the raceway.

Point battles within the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints remain hotly contested as the season reaches it’s final month of action. On top of the current standings Jeremy Schultz leads the way with a 66 point advantage of Scotty Thiel. Two-time series champ Scotty Neitzel is just another 20 markers back as the trio continue to tussle for the 2016 crown.
