SECOND HALF OF 2016 SEASON BEGINS FOR THE BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA SPRINTS WITH WILMOT – SUN PRAIRIE DOUBLE HEADER!

TEAMS PREPARE FOR SECOND HALF OF CHALLENGING BUMPER TO BUMPER IRA OUTLAW SPRINT SEASON!

July 13, 2016; Appleton, WI – The challenging 34 date schedule for the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will cross the midpoint this weekend as the series makes stops at two of it’s most prolific tracks. On Saturday Night July 16th Wilmot Raceway will see the 900 horsepower winged sprints showcase their speed and fury and then on Sunday Night, July 17th fans at Angell Park Speedway will witness the and addition helping of the spectacle of speed.

Teams have mainly been divided into two camps so far this season. Those, which have been able to stay on task and complete, and those that have been challenged by fate and mechanical ills and are seeking a return to racing action.

The former group will be ready for Saturday evening, as Wilmot Raceway will host four divisions of action highlighted by the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints. Joining the program will be the Wisconsin WingLESS Sprint Series, which has become especially popular as one of the featured weekly divisions at the track. Mini-Sprints and Modifieds will also be on the card.

The event will mark the third of five appearances for the series this season. So far outsiders have captured the two events run. In the first contest Dusty Zomer outran Brandon Wimmer for the win, while Danny Holtgraver came up victorious in the All-Stars vs IRA Challenge event.

The track has also hosted an addition pair of 410 sprint shows. Wimmer ran down Jeremy Schultz for the win in the first contest while Schultz, a two-time track champion and the 2013 IRA Rookie of the Year earned the victory in the second event.

Given that performance Schultz could use his knowledge of the raceway as a means to cut into the point lead of Scotty Thiel who has earned three victories in Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Series competition this season. Schultz meanwhile is looking to get back to victory lane in IRA action at a track that rewarded him with several IRA victories.

Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with racing slated at 6:45. Grandstand admission is $20.00 for adults ages 12 and over; $5.00 for youth ages 7-11; and free for children ages 6 and under. On Sunday the series will make a trip to Angell Park Speedway. The historic facility has become a favorite of both fans and drivers for the intense racing action it has provided.

All totaled the series is making six stops at the uniquely shaped third-mile track giving it the most events on the 2016 schedule.

So far this year only the weather has bested IRA point leader Scotty Thiel at the track as rain took out one of the first three shows. Thiel has captured both events that have been completed so far this season.

The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be joined by the Badger Midgets and Wisconsin Dirt Legends series.

All tickets and pit passes from the June 5th rain out will be honored. You must bring your ticket and pit pass to redeem it for a new ticket/pit pass.

Admission prices are $20 for adults, with Students ages 12 to 18 admitted for $15. Children under the age of 12 are admitted FREE with an adult.

Pit gates will open at 2:00pm, with spectator gates opening at 4:30pm. Hot laps begin at 6:00pm with racing to follow.
